Optimism abounded at the Louisville Home Show in late January. Wisconsin Housing Alliance retail and manufacturing members all seemed to be projecting positive thoughts. Retailers and park owners were buying and manufacturers were selling. All of that bodes well for the industry in 2017.
The homes themselves were sporting some fantastic kitchens, new colors (lots of gray tones) and a great deal of end/entry front porches that really add to curb appeal. Skyline Homes even had a “tiny home” with 420 square feet and a small front porch. (Pictured below, last from bottom) It was very well designed, built to the HUD Code and was the talk of the show. (I was really happy to see this because our industry was the inventor of the tiny home and if people want a reasonably priced home with running water and all the amenities, they can have it and put it in a manufactured home community. I plan to be touting this option to some of the housing groups in Wisconsin that focus on affordable housing for low income families.)
Attendance at the Louisville Show was more than 2900 representing more than 960 companies, including 1900 builders, installers, community managers, and retailers representing 750 companies. Some of our members who made it to the show, including ABT Water Management, Mobile Home Stuff Store, PFS Corporation, Skyline Corporation, Home Source One and Asset Development Group, are pictured below.
