Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) has partnered with UnitedHealth Care (UHC) and will be launching EmployerPulse, an Association Health Plan effective January 1, 2019. Under a new Association Health Plan (AHP) rule issued by the U.S. Department of Labor, small businesses can enjoy the flexibility that large businesses have under the Affordable Care Act by pooling together. It will be available for businesses of all industries with 2 – 50 employees in the majority of the counties within Wisconsin.
As a small group of 2–50 employees, you can access plans that give you “strength in numbers.” For rating purposes, you’re seen as a large employer. You have the ability to include a broad range of plan designs and options to cater to the needs of all of your employees. You will have to meet certain requirements in order to be eligible for this program. Please click here to see if you qualify.
In addition, you will be able to access this program through a participating broker and participating local chamber.
This AHP will be available for quoting for a 1/1/2019 effective date. WMC will be hosting webinars the week of November 5th to discuss the details. The best resource for the latest information regarding the AHP and to schedule a time to attend the webinar will be at www.wmcinsurance.org.
For more information, please contact Matt Flynn mflynn@wmc.org, or Robert Baker rbaker@wmc.org. Also, WMC offers group dental, vision, life, disability and workplace voluntary benefits for Wisconsin employers.
